Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal no match to Rahul Gandhi: Lalu Prasad

Muzaffarnagar | TOI | Dec 29, 2013:: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal are no match to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Lalu assessed that Arvind Kejriwal and Narendra Modi is nothing in front of Rahul Gandhi.

"Rahul Gandhi is Rahul Gandhi. It is the media, which has created the hype about Kejriwal and Modi," claimed Lalu.

He also attacked the AAP saying, "In a month, people of Delhi will realise that they have made a mistake. People don't know what kind of people they are, especially the people living in slums don't know about their mistake.

"The dream Kejriwal has showed to the people is nothing but a big drama. He will set the worst record of governance in Delhi. He is no Raja Harishchandra," he added.

Lalu, who is on a visit to Muzaffarnagar relief camps and meet the families of riot victims, said, "Muzaffarnagar riot victims were in relief camps and during that time I was in jail. I got to know that many children have died due to the cold. So, I had decided that I would definitely visit the relief camps and meet the families staying there."

Prasad, whose party is expected to have an alliance with the Congress for the next Lok Sabha polls, came in Muzaffarnagar Sunday morning.

His visit is being coordinated by Rajya Sabha member Mohammed Adeeb. Adeeb was made the member of the upper house with the support of the Samajwadi Party and the Congress.

Prasad is expected to visit half a dozen relief camps inhabited by members of the Muslim community.

Prasad is considered a popular leader among the community and his party RJD had been in power in Bihar for 15 years largely on the basis of MY (Muslim-Yadav) combination.

Prasad, who had arrested BJP leader L K Advani during the Ram Janambhoomi movement in the 1990s, has been projecting himself to be a true secular and talking about playing a larger role in halting the march of Narendra Modi-led BJP.

Lalu's visit comes a week after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi made an unannounced visit to to the riot-hit areas of Muzaffarnagar district and relief camps to meet the affected people from both the Muslim and Hindu communities.
