Puri Shankarcharya keeping same distance from Modi and Rahul like Third Fornt!

Won’t support Modi or Rahul for PM: Puri Shankaracharya.

PUNE | TNN | 27 NOV 2013:: Shankaracharya of Puri Swamy Nischalananda Saraswati on Tuesday stayed away from the Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi debate, refusing to support the Gujarat chief minister or Congress vice-president as prime ministerial candidates. 

"I am not an overt or covert supporter of any political party. Recently, Modi met me to discuss some issues. I have also sent a message to Rahul Gandhi. If people feel that Modi, Rahul and Sonia are not good enough to serve the nation, they (people) should elect their own candidate. People should vote for a party and a candidate who is dedicated to the development of the nation," he told reporters on a visit to the city. 

The Shankaracharya said players in the financial market will play a decisive role in deciding India's next Prime Minister. "Directionless trade and economy, which is dominating the world, will decide the next Prime Minister. The BJP and the Congress need to introspect over their political ideologies. Parties and leaders should be courageous to accept the role of the opposition instead of getting into selfish alliance for power," he said. 

Blaming both the political parties for deceiving the people in the name of Ram temple, he said: "The BJP came to power exploiting the Ram temple issue and the Congress politicized it.
