Ready to take on Narendra Modi or any other Modi:  Lalu Yadav

Agencies | New Delhi | 16 Dec, 2013:: Stating that he is willing to give any sacrifice to ensure that 'communal forces' don't come to power, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday said, "Narendra Modi or any other Modi, I am now ready take them on."

Addressing the media after being released on bail, Yadav said, "I am free now. I will travel across the nation." "Now I will unite all secular parties to keep out the communal forces," Yadav added.

Hitting out at both Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal, Yadav said, "People like Anna Hazare want to subvert courts by bringing in institutions like Lokpal." Slamming Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, Yadav said, "Now we have political parties in Delhi who want to fight elections but don't want to form government."

Lalu Prasad Yadav was released from Birsa Munda Central Jail after completion of bail formalities. Lalu had earlier got bail in four other fodder scam cases, in which he was concurrently in judicial custody after he was convicted by a special CBI court in a fodder scam case on September 30, he said.

The apex court had last week granted bail to the RJD chief in the fodder scam case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.7 crore from the Chaibasa Treasury during his tenure as chief minister.

He was sentenced to five years RI and fined Rs 25 lakh on October three.

During jail custody, Lalu appeared before different CBI courts through video conferencing in four other fodder cases for alleged fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 97 lakh from Deogarh Treasury, Rs 3.97 crore from Dumka Treasury, Rs 36 crore from Chaibasa Treasury and Rs 184 crore from the Doranda Treasury.
